A question that defines your very life

So a lot of cool things have happened recently that deserve recapping, but I'm not going to talk about them right now because I'm going to bed. But here's a question for you all:

My brother just got a new cell phone and it can use mp3s as ringtones. This might not be that exciting, except that he's offering those people in his inner circle the opportunity to pick what song - nay, what snippet - they would like to represent them whenever they call.

So here's the dilemma: out of all the music I love, what should I pick to represent my entire being (at least, as it's encapsulated in my brother's cell phone)? Do I go with my song of the moment? Do I pick a timeless classic? Do I go with a quirky lyric that represents me or a catchy melody? Or do I just say shove it all and go with Tom Jones?

So I offer the problem up to you: What song snippet, dear readers, should I pick? I anxiously await your opinion.

(You can also say what song snippet you would pick for yourself. I'm not THAT self-centered. I'll find your choices interesting, I swear.)

Something horrible and terrible.
I'm thinking something like "Turn Back Time" or "When I Dip You Dip We Dip (Is that what it's even called?)" or something Spice Girls or N'Sync.

And then call him as often as possible.

Or just go completely nerdy. For instance, on Rob's phone (the same one Josh just got) any time I call it blasts the Legend of Zelda theme. I especially enjoy the sense of importance it gives my phone calls. Rob's got to be thinking "he's out there trying to save Hyrule, whatever he needs from me I'll do it."

Just something to consider...

Well, since it's your brother I'm going to assume he loves you and will let you change it on a whim.

Therefore, I think you should go with the Sesame Street theme song.

My ring on Keri's phone is currently "Chariot" but if I had to be one on yours, I'd want to be "I Don't Want to Be" just so you'd never get it out of your head.

Some Kidz Bop... that would be awesome as a ringer we all know that. And speaking of Kidz Bop, the new one came out today.... hahaha. I thought you might be amused by it.

Definitive songs could be so far away from definitive ringtones. Take the pressure off, because even if you do have that definitive song, it kinda loses meaning putting it on a phone-- in my opinion that is...
I wouldn't want someone to hear "Boxing" every time I called, mainly because I'm selfish and wouldn't want to give that personal window over and over again. Plus, it's depressing...
If I had anyone cool enough to let me pick a ringtone I think today I would pick between:
"Cannonball" -Veruca Salt (If I could pick exactly where the snippet was taken from in the song)
"Wake me up before you go-go" Wham! (Don't laugh! It would be a perfect bit to hear and a great pick me up to whomever I was calling)
"Sobbin' Women" or "Bless Yore Beautiful Hide" From my favorite musical
"Unbelieveable" Diamond Rio (to send subliminal messages of my greatness attatched to my call)
That's my list... for today... :)

I look forward to Scott's calls because of that. Only because of that. Not because he's calling me. That fills me with rage. And jealousy. Mostly jealousy.

P.S. Scott Rocks and I don't.

I really think about killing Scott sometimes. Like when he does dumb things, or signs on my computer and posts as me, or when he just talks in general. I hate him.

the best thing about mp3's is that they don't have to be muzak.

if it's too tough a choice to find a song that defines you, you could go with a movie quote that represents you instead. those are much easier to find.

here are a few suggestions for ya ;)

"all right, all right I'll ask her. miss, miss! Do you know where the high school girls hang out around here? what? what?!"

heheh, but seriously, i'd got with strongbad "everybody in this town knows my name" :D

How dare you boys talk about Guild Wars on Tim's sacred blog!?!?! Only he may bring up such exclusionary topics.

Dorks.

Thanks for all the great suggestions, everyone. Especially you, Mom F. That cracked me up.

I wonder if I could track down a copy of "Pacman Fever." That would be both nerdy AND annoying.

J, there's no bad time or place to talk about Guild Wars. If guild business needs to be transacted on my blog, I'm only more than happy to assist.

I thought of two songs

Seventeen - "Mountains, Literally Mountains, of Coke"

Ike Reilly "Commie Drives a Nova"

and then I realized I'm not funny

so how about "Merry Christmas You Old Building and Loan" by The Western Front?

http://www.ringtoneripper.com will get the trick done....
